New Guide Helps Young Adults Understand Texas Law

Houston, TX April 26, 2007

When he was in college, Scot Courtney didn&39;t have a guide to the laws in Texas. Scot enjoyed college life like most other students at Texas State University (when it was known as Southwest Texas State University), but he always wished there was some kind of accessible information on laws that might affect students directly.

According to a recent survey, over 55% of college students will have some contact with law enforcement during their college career. Knowing how to deal with those situations can be invaluable.

In addition to counseling a large number of students in his law practice today, Scot has also written Student Body of Law for Texas: Everything College Students Need to Know about the Law (Palari Publishing, ISBN 1928662099, June 1, 2007). The goal of this book is to provide students with solid, well-researched information that may help them deal with unexpected situations that could arise at college.

This exhaustive guide covers diverse topics-such as partying, apartment leases, credit cards, self-defense, and hazing-in an informative, easy-to-read narrative.

With a resource like this on hand, Texas students (and even young adults not in college) will have peace of mind knowing that they have a resource which may be invaluable as they transition from home life to the &39;real world.&39;
